Description

If you’ve never tried jalapeño jelly before, prepare to have your taste buds dancing. This Pioneer Woman–inspired recipe blends the sweetness of sugar with the bold, zesty kick of fresh jalapeños. Spread it over cream cheese and crackers, glaze it over grilled chicken, or add it to a charcuterie board for a conversation-starting condiment.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prep the Peppers

Wash, stem, and chop jalapeños and bell pepper. Wear gloves to avoid chili burn.

  1. Blend

In a blender, combine peppers and apple cider vinegar until smooth.

  1. Boil the Mixture

Pour puree into a large pot. Add sugar and bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat. Stir constantly.

  1. Add Pectin

Add powdered pectin and boil for another minute.

  1. Jar the Jelly

Pour hot jelly into sterilized jars, seal, and process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

Note

Tips for Success

  • Use half green and half red jalapeños for a beautiful color mix.
  • For a smoother jelly, strain out solids before adding pectin.
