Make the tomato sauce

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the diced tomatoes, basil, and red pepper flakes, if using. Cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes break down into a sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
4 Combine the pasta and veggies

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss to combine, adding a little pasta water if needed to make the sauce creamy. Stir in the sautéed asparagus and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
5 Serve

Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley and optional parmesan. Serve immediately and enjoy!
